James Weldon joins as Senior Engineer

We welcome James Weldon as we continue the growth of Norton Straw, adding to our advanced fluid mechanics and thermal engineering capability.

James has joined as Senior Engineer, from Bombardier Transportation, where he worked as Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics Performance Engineer following his time on the graduate scheme; completing rotations in a range of engineering disciplines. James has a Master's degree in Mathematics from Durham University.

At Bombardier James coordinated the aerodynamics and thermodynamics work for all UK projects, and was responsible for the aerodynamic and thermodynamic assurance of the prestigious Class 345 fleet that will operate on the new Elizabeth Line, built by Crossrail Ltd on behalf of Transport for London.

Matt Straw, Norton Straw Consultants' Managing Director commented that "I am delighted to have James join us as we continue our strong business growth and as the demand for our engineering and technology services increases across a wider range of industries. In addition to his technical expertise, James' experience will also be helping our clients that are looking to develop a systems engineering approach to their operations. James is already supporting a current Norton Straw project that is developing an introductory guide to the application of a systems engineering approach to the offshore industry and the value it offers companies operating in oil and gas."
