Norton Straw appoints Dr Bruce Kakimpa as Principal Engineer

Norton Straw Consultants is delighted to appoint Dr Bruce Kakimpa as Principal Engineer, adding to our advanced fluid mechanics, thermal engineering and structural engineering capabilities. He is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Bruce joins us from The University of Nottingham Rolls-Royce's University Technology Centre in gas turbine transmissions, where he has been a Research Fellow in thermo-fluids and multiphase flow for the past four years, working closely with Senior Engineers at Rolls-Royce on projects impacting on the development of future engines.

In addition to his aerospace experience, Bruce has worked across the oil and gas, process, energy and advanced manufacturing industries.  He holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Nottingham with a focus on the modelling of the aerodynamics and flight dynamics of airborne debris.
