We’re very pleased to announce that Rory McDonald has joined Norton Straw at the start of September. Rory will need no introduction to anyone in the gas turbine or wider fluid dynamics analysis worlds; his work in jet engine performance, Formula 1 aerodynamics, aerodynamic data analysis or many other fields is well known. After a spell leading the performance team in Rolls Royce, Rory has decided to join us to help consolidate our growth.
Matt Straw, Managing Director of Norton Straw, ruminated “It’s a wonderful sign of the growing reputation of our business that someone of Rory’s stature has chosen to join us. Naturally, we are looking forward to introducing him to our gas turbine and aerospace clients and discussing how his expertise can help them, but we’re also very glad to have the benefit of his experience in managing analysis teams and complex aerodynamics projects”.
Rory added “I see Norton Straw as the perfect place to take my career forward. They have an exciting portfolio of aerospace projects, but I’m also looking forward to the variety that the company offers. In fact, I’ve been told that my first task is characterising the non-Newtonian behaviour of dough, so that’ll be a change.”.
